After spending a wonderful few weeks in California, we headed out to Wisconsin to meet up with Ryan’s family for his brother’s wedding, and then stay put for a couple of months while we have our baby. It had been three years since we’d been with them, so it has been a great reunion. I’ve been taking a bit of a break from picture taking, but here are a few pictures of what we’ve been enjoying together:first time strawberry pickinga lot went right into their mouths! taking advantage of family to babysit so we could celebrate our anniversary first camping trip with their dad and uncle. Ryan says he now thinks age 2.5 is still a bit young for camping. 🙂 Spending as much time with the cousins as possible And the reason we’re all here – Ryan’s brother’s wedding! Baby sister decided to wait until after the wedding to make her appearance. Could be any day now!
Our kids have reconnected with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins quickly. Talia is constantly asking about the next planned time to be with the cousins. We do our best to stay in touch, even though we don’t see each other often. We skype regularly with both sets of grandparents, we show the kids pictures of their cousins, and we also put together a photo album on the ipad for them to look at on the long journey back to the US.
Do you live far from your family? How do you help your kids stay connected?
